Cases of depression on rise, survey reveals

Dadeldhura: Some 500 people are found suffering from depression at six different places in Dadeldhura district, according to a survey. The number of people suffering from depression was confirmed during a survey carried out by CMC Nepal and the District Public Health Office, Dadeldhura.

The survey was carried out at Jogbudha, Ajaymeru, Bagarkot, Nabadurga, Dewaldivyaour and Alital villages in the district. It is revealed that the highest number of depression cases was found at Jogbudha, which stands at 253 while Alital area has the lowest number with 16 cases.

The number of people killing self is also increasing in Dadeldhura. The District Police Office, Dadeldhura, has recorded a large number of suicide cases till the date of the current fiscal year. It is noted that the number of people committing suicide due to depression has gone up even in the world in the recent years. RSS
